Initially honing his skills as a diligent Accountant, Ekiye navigated the intricacies of financial management, serving as a Finance Executive and later as an esteemed auditor within a prestigious firm of chartered accountants.

Asu Ekiye is from Aleibiri in Ekeremor Local government of Bayelsa state and Tuomo in Burutu Local Government of Delta state. His early education was at the prestigious Hussey college Warri before heading to the University of Science and Technology in Portharcourt where he obtained a BSC in Accountancy. Asu also has a second degree in public Admin and is gunning for a PHD in same.

Ekiye's unequivocal dedication to his newfound passion led to the release of his groundbreaking and award-winning album, "Back to Base," in December 2001 which propelled him to the forefront as a celebrated Gospel musician of extraordinary standing. Asu Ekiye has released five musical projects till date: back to base 1,2, Na God SEIYO his recent release titled EBIKAMO.

Renowned for his immense artistic prowess, Ekiye has garnered countless accolades, including the esteemed distinction of being a two-time consecutive recipient of the prestigious Channel O Best African Gospel Artiste award organized in South Africa. Through his unique sound and captivating performances, Ekiye has successfully propagated the Niger Delta brand of gospel music, transcending geographical borders and captivating audiences across the globe.

Earning global recognition for his musical prowess and unwavering commitment to his craft, Ekiye's unwavering dedication extends beyond the realms of entertainment. His exceptional leadership qualities propelled him to serve as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Entertainment and Culture, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of the industry's nuances and his passionate advocacy for the nurturing of artistic expressions in his region.

Embracing intellectual excellence, Ekiye stands as a beacon of knowledge, having obtained an honorary Doctorate Degree from the esteemed Triune Biblical University in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Furthermore, his magnetic charisma and exceptional organizational skills led him to assume the esteemed position of the International President of FOGMMON (Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria), an all-encompassing umbrella body for Gospel musicians. Under his leadership, FOGMMON has expanded its reach with chapters established in all 36 states of Nigeria, as well as in prominent international locations such as Houston Texas; Boston, Massachusetts; and over 10 European countries, South Africa, Ghana and several countries round the world.

Currently residing in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, Asu Ekiye continues to serve as a compelling force within the realms of finance, Administration, music ministry, advocacy and politics.
